Old Edge browser to be removed from Windows PCs

Starting from the 13th April, Microsoft will release a Windows update to remove the legacy version of Edge from Windows 10 computers.

Microsoft took almost a decade to wean people off Internet Explorer, but the company has a swift retirement plan for the old version of the Edge browser.

On 13th April 2021, Windows’s monthly security patch will uninstall the legacy Edge version from Windows 10 computers and install the new Chromium-based version.

If you have the Chromium version of Edge installed already, the update will only remove the legacy version.
