NordVPN disables features when cancelling auto-renew

A Reddit user has discovered that NordVPN disables some of its features when customers turn off auto-renewal of their subscription.

The user posted the following screenshot showing Nord’s process for cancelling auto-renewal.

It appears to show that Nord will disable priority support and some protection features if customers cancel their auto-renewal, even though their subscription is still valid at that point.

NordVPN is a very popular VPN with a lot of advertising behind it. Nord’s claims of privacy have been previously verified by an audit performed by PwC, which is unusual for VPNs. Also, NordVPN is based in Panama, which is outside of the jurisdiction of the so called Five-Eyes.
